The Annual General Meeting of the Independent Mortgage Brokers Association of Ontario (IMBA) will be held in conjunction with our Lunch with the Legends on:   Wednesday, March 24, 2010 Lunch & Speaker - 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. AGM 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Mississauga Convention Centre 75 Derry Road West Mississauga, Ontario L5W 1G3   The purpose of this meeting will be:      • The election and, or announcement of the acclamation of Elected Directors;      • The appointment of the Counsel to the Association for the subsequent year;      • The appointment of the Accountant to the Association for the subsequent year;      • The submitting and approving of the annual business and financial reports of the Association for the previous year;      • The ratification of proposed amendments to the Constitution and By-laws;      • The introduction and discussion of motions;      • The presentation to the Members of the Board of Directors for the subsequent year;      • The presentation to the Members of the President for the subsequent year;      • Such other matters of business that Members may wish to have discussed.   <h3 style="text-align: center">Call for Nominations of Candidates for the Position of Director of the Independent Mortgage Brokers Association of Ontario</h3>   The Board of Directors of the Association invites the nomination of Active Members of the Association for the purpose of electing four (4) Active Members to the position of Elected Director. The term of office will be for a period of approximately three (3) years, commencing after the close of the Annual General Meeting of the Association that will be held on March 24, 2010 and ending at the close of the Annual General Meeting of the Association that will be held in 2013.   NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITIONS OF ELECTED DIRECTOR  Any Active Member, whose membership is in good standing, may propose the nomination of any other Active Member whose membership is in good standing as a candidate for election as an Elected Director to the Board of Directors of the Association.    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTED DIRECTORS  Candidates for the position of Elected Director must be Active Members of the Association with at least one year's tenure as a Member of the Association, at the time that they are nominated. The Governance Committee shall verify that each candidate is qualified to stand for election.   RETURN OF NOMINATIONS Nominations of candidates must be received no later than thirty (30) days prior to the Election Day. The Secretary shall receive and present to the Board of Directors the names of the Active Members who have been nominated to become Directors within three (3) days after the close of the nomination period. The Secretary shall cause the names of the candidates to be circulated to all classes of membership no later than twenty (20) days prior to the Election Day.   BIOGRAPHY OF CANDIDATES All nominees for Director, after consenting in writing to the said nomination, shall provide a brief biography to the Secretary of the Association for distribution to the Members prior to the election.
