How IMBA works for you

What’s your return on investment in your membership in a professional association? Are you getting your money’s-worth? Sadly, many individuals in our profession are of the opinion that paying for membership in a professional association is a waste of money. Are they correct?

At IMBA, we believe that a professional association should work to unite its Members and to be an advocate for their common interests and concerns. IMBA was formed to represent its Members who are mortgage brokers and agents in Ontario and to assist them in their chosen profession. IMBA’s mandate, among other offerings, includes helping its Members in their businesses, training and educating practitioners, and communicating important information to them.

IMBA, as an association, speaks as a strong collective voice to regulators and the industry at large to protect its Members’ interests. IMBA’s Members are part of IMBA by choice and they enjoy the following benefits among others:

1. By regularly communicating key issues to its Members so that they are all aware of them;
2. The IMBA Community is close-knit and Members work with and learn from each other for their mutual benefit;
3. The networking events and opportunities that IMBA sponsors assist Members in earning a living;
4. Directors and staff are easily accessible should Members need them;
5. IMBA is recognised by the industry, service providers, regulators and politicians as a credible partner.

IMBA creates awareness about matters that are important to improve the mortgage brokerage industry. IMBA respects all Members’ views and provides a platform to them to express them. IMBA’s Board of Directors and committee members are committed to constantly represent the best interests of licensed mortgage brokers and agents in Ontario.
