IMBA's Annual Conference is comprised of the Annual General Meeting of the Association, the Dinner & Gala Evening, the Conference Business Sessions, the Trade Show and the Wrap-up Reception. The Conference is held over 2 consecutive days in mid-spring of each year and features guest speakers, seminars, new product introductions and numerous networking opportunities.
Every year since 2003, IMBA's Members and guests head to a destination in Ontario for SummerFest. Brokers, agents, lenders and vendors to the industry either play at the IMBA Open Golf Tournament or enjoy participating in an alternate activity such as a winery tour, a water excursion or a concert. All of the participants gather at the networking reception and dinner to greet friends and reacquaint themselves with colleagues and other industry participants.
The dinner features fabulous food served by the venue's culinary staff and sponsors present prizes to the winners of the IMBA Open contests as well as the tournament's winning foursome.
The WinterFest International Conference has been presented in late January or early February every year since 2004. Its purpose is to bring together industry participants to: discuss the state of the industry, identify business opportunities, learn about new developments, network, and enjoy a mid-winter break in a warm and sunny location.
IMBA's sponsors and lender-partners take advantage of the business sessions by holding focus-group meetings and to learn the opinions of mortgage brokers and mortgage agents who attend WinterFest. A few times throughout the years, some lenders have launched new products and services at WinterFest.
IMBA's Members who are brokers and agents get a chance to dialogue with decision makers from lender-companies and vendors to the mortgage brokerage industry.
The leisure activities offer a great opportunity for attendees to NETWORK WHILE NOT WORKING while playing in the WinterFest Golf Tournament, relaxing pool-side or partying in the clubs. WinterFest is always held at either a 4-star or 5-star, all-inclusive resort.
For those who prefer native Canadian climate, IMBA organizes SnowFest in the Huronia region of Ontario that is held every Family Day in mid-February. Industry practitioners enjoy a day on the slopes with family members or with colleagues after which they gather for après-ski activities.
Professional Development Seminars and Symposiums are available to Members throughout the province. Members can keep current with industry-related developments, enhance their careers, learn how to deal with business challenges and absorb other valuable information. Attendees at these professional development events earn credits towards IMBA's CPMB/CPMA designations, OREA's continuing education credits and CAAMP's AMP credits.
