Joining one of IMBA’s Committees is a great way to network with peers, learn about new trends in the industry, and have a hand in shaping the Association’s direction. Each year, more than 200 Members participate in IMBA’s various activities. If you would like to get more involved with IMBA, or you have some great ideas you’d like to see implemented, now is the time to take action. The Association has plenty of opportunities for volunteers. Complete the registration form (40 KB) 1. Annual Conference CommitteeTo organize and be responsible for the presentation of the Association’s Annual Conference 2. Associations Relations CommitteeTo foster relations with other provincial and national Associations whose Members participate in the mortgage brokerage industry 3. Communications CommitteeResponsible to elevate the profile of the Association and its Members Co-ordinates the disseminating of all information regarding all aspects of the Association Publishes the Association’s communications vehicles Responsible for the Association’s web site 4. Education CommitteeResponsible to initiate, co-ordinate and implement all programs to provide education to Members and potential Members of the Association To foster relationships and undertake co-operative initiatives with Regulators, Government Officials, providers of education and industry stakeholders in matters pertaining to the training and education of Mortgage Brokers and Mortgage Agents 5. Family Ski Day CommitteeResponsible to organize the Association's annual Family Ski Day 6. Finance CommitteeTo be chaired by the Treasurer Responsible for preparation of annual budgets, adherence to budgets, management of expenditures, management of bank accounts and management of revenue 7. Governance CommitteeResponsible for the record keeping of the Association, record keeping of the Board of Directors Responsible for adherence to the By-laws of the Association Recommends revisions to the Association’s Constitution, By-laws and Standards of Conduct for Members of the Association, as necessary Receives nominations of Members for the positions of Director Recommends appointments for positions to the Board of Directors 8. Government Relations CommitteeLiaises with Members, Regulators, Government Officials and other mortgage brokerage Associations with respect to regulatory and legislative matters 9. Membership CommitteeThe Committee shall be responsible for soliciting, receiving and approving applications with respect to potential Members of the Association The Committee shall be responsible for renewing the membership of existing Members of the Association The Committee shall be responsible for maintaining accurate records for the Members of the Association The Committee shall be responsible for recommending the cost of membership annually to the Board of Directors 10. Partner Relations CommitteeFosters and maintains relationships with Business Partners of the Association 11. Planning CommitteeResponsible for the strategic planning and implementation of the Association’s objectives Liaises with other Committees to establish long-term, mid-term and short-term strategic plans for the Association 12. Professional Standards CommitteeCo-ordinates the Professional Certification Program of the Association Adjudicates disciplinary matters respecting Members 13. SummerFest CommitteeResponsible to organize the Association's annual SummerFest event 14. WinterFest CommitteeResponsible to organize the Association's annual WinterFest event |
